    YT suspension?

What type of suspension does YT use? Is it identical to Santa Cruz?

No Santa Cruz uses a VPP linkage design. If you look at the linkage moving you'll see that the upper linkage rotates in the opposite direction as the lower linkage.

YT uses a Horst link suspension. A pivot point is placed in the back of the bike on the chainstay.

I don't want to write a gigantic explanation on this but to answer your question, no they are not the same.

YT designs their linkage as "progressive" which means the more it compresses, the firmer the suspension gets.
It's good for big hits to avoid bottoming out, and gives a more supportive feel to the suspension, which I personally prefer.
So is it plush? It depends on your frame of reference I'd say. If you are used to a hardtail, or new to suspension, it will probably feel plush. If you're used to a 200mm downhill bike with less progressive suspension, it might feel firm to you.

With the pro model you'll have quite the adjustments to make feel the way you like. With a progressive bike like YT, you're relying more on the bike to support you through the travel than you are with the shock and it's dampening. You could also argue that this bike was meant to have a coil shock for the same reason.

What bike are you coming off of? How much do you weigh? Do you race? Biggest drop/jumps you do? What is the purpose of this bike (bike park laps, trails, big mountain,....)?

Ok this changes things. At your weight, you may have a hard time using all of your suspension without modifying the shock.

    Check out this site

Also a Rocky Mountain maiden would be a better comparison.

You are correct there as well. Slayer is a Horst link design

Works fine, I have mine in the raised setting currently. I switched it there to check it out and it's been like that for a while. Easy to do.

One position is slightly lower and slacker (the default) and the other that I switched it to is slightly higher at the bottom bracket and steeper head angle. I switched it because I ride a lot of rooty rocky technical and I thought a higher bottom bracket might be good.
It wasn't a huge difference in feel, pretty subtle. If you get a Jeffsy, try it, it's easy to switch back and forth.

Does the YT perform better than specialized horst link?
