Jeffsy Picture Thread (all wheel sizes welcome)

I figured we needed a picture thread like all those cool guys in the other forums. Action shots, new bike shots, new part shots... all are welcome!

This is mine after the first ride. 34 miles at the Snake Creek Gap time trials. The ride was rad!... besides my two rear flats. One was my fault for taking a crappy line, and gashing a sidewall. Then I put a tube in there, and the tube failed at a seam about 5 mins later. Love the bike.

This snow is driving me nuts... it's been about 3 weeks since I've been able to ride so no good action shots. Can't wait to get back out there, it's such a fun bike it just makes me want to ride all the time.

Froze my ass off in Pisgah this weekend, but got in a great ride. Still trying to get my suspension dialed in, but I’m getting closer!

Just ordered the 27 AL. Have you had many problems with pedal strikes? It's my only big concern with the Jeff.

Yeah when I first started riding it I was getting a bunch. I’ve only had the flip chip set in low the entire time though. I’ve gotten used to it, and pedal strikes aren’t an issue any more. I have the same pedal strike problems with any modern f/s bike... it’s just much easier to hit them than it is on an XC bike!

Yup, it's an awesome bike but you'll need to learn to ratchet.

Man I am sooooo close to pulling the trigger on a 27 CF pro. I wish I was more impulsive when I buy bikes. I overthink it too much. This thread is making it harder (or easier lol).

Frameskin for 2018 YT Jeffsy 27 CF Pro Race

Here's a selection of photos of the Frameskin kit I've just developed. Should be online in a few days or so.

Is this 29er? or 27.5? Medium or Large frame? Flip chip in high or low setting?

29er, large, flip chip in low. I’m 5’9.5” with a 32.5” inseam. I was worried about fitting over the 150mm dropper, and YT even told me I wouldn’t.... fits like a glove with room to spare. I wouldn’t even entertain riding a medium.

Picked up a ‘18 Capra al comp 275 for a Sierra ridin bike when thangs get a bit steeper, longer, faster than local stuff, shuttle type ridin. Rode it a few times locally, pedaled it a good amount like a trail bike, descended on some steeper stuff (to me), and wuz stoked (still hasn’t been on a Sierra type shuttle ride).

Wuz feelin it n went ahead and picked up a jeffsy cf pro 29 because i wuz so yt fanboy’d out, wtf. 29 killin it on some longer xc rides w/some steeps mixed in. Pretty fun. Some backyard
poseur shots n some trail shots.

I figured out if you are tooling around town and lock the shock, you can stick a water bottle in the rear suspension.

I cannot say as I replaced the tires when it was new. From other owners, the e13’s have great grip at the expense of increased rolling resistance. I already had the Maxxis’ on my Niner RIP 9 RDO and they perform great on both bikes.

I believe he's saying it came with e13 tires but he put the Maxxis ones on right away without ever riding the e13's.

A big dedicated park bike would be awesome to have. Got to say though I would probably go with whatever could be found the cheapest.

Jeffsy looks like a very versatile bike. Obviously great trail/AM but looks like it can even do some park and 'XC+'. Set of nice light carbon wheels for trail/AM/XC+ and spare the AL for the park would be a nice setup. Not the very best tool for each job but that's what makes it fun and challenging. Starting to save for a 2019 on sale next fall.

Good luck with that plan. I expect the 2019 to come out with modern geometry at a similar pricepoint = sold out for the year within the first two weeks (just like the Capra this year). I'm ordering one the day they are released!!!

    Have FUN!

Yt Jeffsy 27 CF Pro Race XL

This beast arrived couple weeks ago and seems to be ready now, but never finished

I'm pretty stoked how it ended up, maybe few decals too much but hey, it's just different. And way more killer looking in real!

Loving that 3M grip tape tip on brake levers that some EWS rider mentioned years back.

Fox DPX2 works well but I'm planning to switch it to DHX2 for more grip and cabable on descents.

First time using AMS products and fell in love, such badass looking frame protection and feels really that it works. Try it!

For conclusion, I really like the Jeffsy. I have had high end bikes before and with this one, rear suspension really works, frame is stiff and whole bike feels ready to eat anything on the trail. Those little rubber things between in frame cables and frame is only weakness I have found!

13.2 KG with specs shown in pictures, Ice Spiker Pro Evo 2.6" with tubeless and XL size frame, light enough with that stiffness. Ask if you want to know more! And sorry fot those bad quality images, some phone photos straight from the garage!

Jeffsy Picture Thread (all wheel sizes welcome)-32469689173_e61ca9b2aa_z_d.jpg

I had this before Jeffsy and I would say Jeffsy is way better. Some of that feeling explains with Boosts and carbon wheels but there is something else too.

I like the blue! Also looks like NX Eagle drivetrain, can’t tell on the cassette though.

    CF 27 XL frame

Put some fenders and some AMS frame pro.

Haven’t been able to ride due to a broken collar bone so she’s sitting in my basement.

I’ll post up again in 6-8 weeks when I have her loaded in the bed of my truck and I’m ready to ride. That will be a very big day for me, this sitting around sucks.

Yeah, NX Eagle with the Dub crankset & bottom bracket. The Guide T brakes are new also.

I'm digging the blue/white combination too.

Just made a downtube protector. Looks like there is one in the next post up as well! Seems like it'll do a good job.

Awesome work! How many attempts did it take to get it how you wanted?

    Thanks!

That was my first attempt. I tried using a toaster oven to heat it up, but couldn’t get it molded before it would cool down. So, I ended up using a heat gun. That was much easier, haha

PLEASE let me know how you like that coil. I’m trying to decide between that and a piggy back air shock within the next month or so.

Sure, I had DPX2 before but really wanted to test that coil. Ordered from TF tuned and its fully tuned for me/jeffsy, should work fine.

Had problems with my Pike, bailed and got a Push ACS3 Kit. If you look close you can see the stickers on the fork in the first pic, lol. Got to be faster due to the stickers.

Got my Coil mounted today, had to wait a long while on the front hardware. It’s been raining a lot so I have no clue when I will ride her but in the yard and on the steps here at the house it feels good.

Nice bike! How do you feel that the dB in-line coil pars with the 34 out front? I want a inline coil really bad, but am thinking the fork would feel out matched... so I’d need a 36 as well, lol

The for feels pretty good for a budget for, only thing is it does'nt have the adjustability of the higher end forks, but it performs great!

    Fox 36 upgrade

I wasn't gonna upgrade my forks, but I couldn't pass up the sale they had at BikeBling, 2020 Fox 36 Factory 150mm 29er, for $850.00 plus I wanted to get the 150mm travel fork to rake my headtube out a litte more. It's about 65deg now. I'm selling the rythm 140mm forks to help offset the cost of the new forks!

    Hey, question for you guys.

What do you think a fair price for my bike would be? Bike was the standard 2300 + 100 dollar shipping when I got it.

It’s a 2018 AL base model with new XT shifter and derailleur, new hope bb and headset, new monarch rc3 on the rear, with the rhythm up front freshly serviced. I’d throw in the dps rear shock with the fox factory lever bits that they put on it when my lever failed.

Also even if I don’t sell the bike... anyone interested in my dps? The factory lever is way nicer.

I'm Loving the Mattoc Pro, drastically different to the Fox that shipped on it, I mainly upgraded for brand loyalty and a longer steerer tube, tall rider's get no love from YT's steerer cutting team, kidding aside, the SBC is night and day. The Mattoc tops out at 140mm so yes the M3ZZ3R is the fork for moar. The rear with a McLeod is also drastically different, the whole setup changes the original a lot. I made custom stickers for the shock using some vinyl and the extra stickers from the forks I've had on different bikes, I'm not really the crafty type but all of the red stuck out.
