Freshly New Jeffsey CF Pro Defective Rear Hub

    Hi All,

Received my Jeffsey 27 CF Pro today. Unknown to me during installation was that the kit came with a defective rear hub that is missing a spacer on the disk rotor side.

As a result, when I turned the crank upon completing the install, the rear disk scraped a swath off of the frame and piston mount.

The frame, rotor damage seems cosmetic / ticky tack but still really super bummed (understandable right?). There might be damage to the disk rotor, not sure since it's hard to eyeball the true-ness of the rotor.

Bike is definitely not rideable until I get a replacement rear wheel.

No weekend customer service (prob not Monday cause of Labor Day too) but since YT is direct-to-consumer, I wanted to share and keep the community updated on how their customer service responds to this issue.

    Cheers
    Jack

Do you mean the end cap?
    Look Inside your shipping box.
Maybe it came off and is still inside.

I donít understand this either. What ďspacerĒ are you talking about? I canít imagine someone would/could install the rear wheel without the hub end cap.
Just like a raindrop, I was born to fall.

Yes - end cap. Thanks for clarifying the official part name. Missing the disk side end cap.

Thought it may have dropped off too. I looked at least 4 times in the box, on the floor, stuck on the bike, but didn't find it.

Yup. That's right. My thoughts exactly.

    ------

The real bummer part is that the missing end cap caused cosmetic damage to the frame and rear piston mount. Feels like I bought a 2nd outlet Jeffsey at full price (no, I did not even get the price at the current sale promo?!).

    =(

Again, we'll see how YT resolves tomorrow.

I've had 2 separate issues that I needed resolved through YT customer service and they were super quick and professional and resolved both issues quickly.

I've purchased 2 bikes from them so far.

Welp I tried to go for the CF Pro Race but they are sold out of my (and every) size. CF Pro is also out in my size. Oh well, guess I'll go hightower or just wait for the new Jeffsy model to be released...

I bet their 2019er models don't have this Shimano e13 crap mix on.
