    Eagle on the jeffsy?

I've got a 2017 jeffsy and lately I've been pondering about replacing the drivetrain with Eagle.

Has anyone done it? Will it work? Is it Worth it?

    What do you guys think?

Pretty costly for sure-----I'd just get a bigger low gear on your cluster----lots of companies make them. And then spend the left over $$$$ on a nice set of wheels or a nice bike trip

I have ran nothing but Shimano for the last 5 years or so. The Eagle would work well on the Jeffsy, just as it does on any other bike. For me, the cost is why I choose Shimano. If you are looking for the 50 tooth gear, I would check out the SunRace 11 speed offerings. I have a 46 tooth version, but they offer the 50 as well. The pricing is in line with the XT cassettes, and I feel like the steps between gears is more evenly spaced, instead of the large jump from 46 to 37 (IIRC) like the Shimano versions.

Another reason why I like the Shimano is the ability to shift with my index finger when shifting to a smaller gear on the cassette. I have gotten so use to doing that, until riding a sram equipped bike seems a bit strange to me now.

But if you feel drawn to SRAM, there is nothing wrong with that either. Each have their strengths and draw-backs.

I went Eagle GX on my Jeffsy 29 and I'm quite delighted with the result.
    On the plus side :
    - Gaps are noticeably smaller than the original 9-46
    - no more 9 teeth cog which I didn't like at all
    - speed shifting is noticeably smoother
    - you can mount the shifter with a matchmaker on the Guide collar, I really had a problem with my SLX shifter being too far

It is a little heavier though. That's the only real downside to it AFAIK. Plus budget of course... Got the kit (without cranks) for just under 300. Price gap with X01 was ridiculously high, with each component being at least double that of GX version.

Go for it. The Eagle is much better than this e13 Shimano Stuff mix.
I have the X01 Eagle on my Jeffsy and the GX Eagle on my Capra.
    Love them.

The e13 isn't spec'd properly because YT specs it with a 32T ring, e13 says to use a smaller ring. That's the whole point of the gear-set. Hope you at least tried a 30T before shelling out for Eagle.

I put a 30t on my Jeffsy 29 when I first got it. Still had several issues of skipping on both extremes of the cassette. Got it warrantied but still had issues. I stuck it out for a good seven months and ~1200 miles but I finally went Eagle GX a few weeks ago and am so glad I did. No issues so far. Also went back to 32t up front which almost exactly matches the e13/30t ratios.

Nothing wrong with that. I like the e13 9-46 and 30T on my hardtail. It would be nice if the 2019 Jeffsy has the new e13 12 speed 9-46, or Shimano 10-45. Whatever they use I hope brakes and shifters are same company for better mounting.

Did you have to get the e*thirteen XD driver or did you go with the NX Rear Derailleur that is compatible with Shimano freehubs

Going for smaller gears, both in front and rear is kind of stupid.
The whole drivetrain wears out much faster.

My 29 CF Pro came with X01 eagle. Small batch before the logo change. Runs great, no issues.
