    29er 2.6 tires on 2018 Jeffsy 29?

Hi, just ordered a 2018 Jeffsy 29 and I'm thinking to swap out the ethirtheen tires for the nobby nics 2.6 with tires. Anyone know if there's enough clearance for this size tire?

I'm pretty sure it should fit. I haven't tried myself. But looking at my bike with stock 2.4 Onza's, It should be fine. At least up front.
More you beef it up, more it will handle like a cow....:skep:

Going to very tight on the chain stay with the rubber protector they put on there. On my 2018 there is about 1/4 inch space at most with the stock 2.35.

With the 2018 boost front, I'm pretty sure it will fit in the front. Is the rear that is in question. Anyone on this forum have tried it on the rear?

My '18 Jeffsy arrives Monday and I have some 2.5 DHFs that I could test out and take a picture of.

This is the aluminum version, but I imagine the clearance would be similar.
I measured 3.05 inches of clearance, although it's tough to get the calipers in there at the right spot (2.4 Minion DHR II's shown):

I would think your 2.6s would fit... but it might be pretty close.

Thanks. I ordered a pair of nobby nics 29 2.6 from Chain reaction cycle. I will try it when I get my bike in May. LOL.

I'd like to know if the new Maxxis 2.6" tires would fit out back as well.

Those 2.6" tires on my 275 are really great for trail riding. I'd say game changing. Probably would no longer buy a bike that could not handle 2.6" tires.

That said, a Maxxis 2.6" is likely, similar to most of their tires, smaller than a real 2.6". If those NNs fit, I'd be confident a Maxxis would work.

    Let us know.

I'm running Nobby Nic 29x2.6 and they fit great! Plenty of clearance around the tire for mud in the back and huge amounts in the front. Running on Specialized Roval Traverse SL 30mm IW wheels. I'll add a picture once I get home and have some time. But the newer Nobby Nic 2.6 fit great.

Subscribed. I'd also love to know if anyone tries a 2.6 DHF out back.

So YT emailed me back and told me 2.4 is the widest that would fit on my 2018 29’er...
I find that hard to believe- not sure if he doesn’t really know or what..
SO my question is would those Nobby nics fit on the DT stock rims? I believe they’re 30mm inner diameter like the previously mentioned roval rims.
It is an AL Comp 29er by the way

It would be called Yikes Tirect and the website would suck to look at, plus you won't see a BD team rider on RedbullTV.

Can you confirm us that you're using without problems Nobby Nic 29x2.6 with a Jeffsy 29? Your opinion is very important, because according YT 2.4 is the widest tire that would fit.
    Thanks

Maurocif, I can't answer the specific question but I have an AL 29 and run a 27.5 x 2.8 NN on a 35mm rim with 5mm to spare on each side...a straight rim is a must. My guess is a 29 x 2.6 NN on a 30mm rim should fit about the same as the triangle narrows.

I know this is probably pretty obvious but since I have some 3.0” 27.5+ wheels sitting around I figured I’d throw the rear on to see how bad it rubbed. It’s not possible to run 3.0” on a 2018 Jeffsy 29.

Pics don’t want to upload for me right now for some reason. I’ll try again later.

Not spot on answer to your question, but I recently swapped the Minion DHR 29 2.4 WT (came with my 29 Al Comp) with a Maxxis Shorty 29 2.5 WT. Just a few mm wider, it seems that Shorty is not that big as initially believed. But then again, 0.1 of an inch is only 2,5 mm.

Superb as front tire in wet and muddy conditons!

Will switch to rear in a few days to check if Shorty 2.5 is compatible with Jeffsy rear frame. I do think it will.

Edit: my Jeffsy is the boost version front and rear. Plenty of room really.

I just mounted 29 2.6 Rekon tires in my 2018 AL Comp. tubeless currently holding 40 psi to see if they stretch. There is MORE than enough room for these tires.

Do you mean they fit in the back? I think a 2.6 WT Rekon in back and 2.6 WT Forkaster would be an awesome high volume combo with not too much tread drag like the standard Minion combo that is just so slow.

I have them both front and back. Too low PSI and you get rub, add a little air and your fine.
