Sell 2013 camber for 2006 yeti asr

So I love yeti, I actually cringed buying a specialized. Nothing against their bikes I just grew up riding yeti. So I bought the base camber heavy not the greatest components. I want to start xc racing though. I'm not deploying again anytime soon so why not. Now I am faced with keep my camber or get an older yeti. Unfortunately these are my only two options right now. I'm saving up for a house right now so the wife isn't letting me spend a lot more on bikes lol. Growing up blows

You did not give us a lot of info about the bikes. The ASR in particular. If you are serious about XC racing like 10 races or more per season and the Yeti is close to top of the line for its day and in great shape I would say do it. If the Yeti is more then 24-25 lbs I would stick with what you have and try to save some cash for a light wheelset better fork and brakes Best option is probably to ride the bike you have now so much your wife can't deny you a newer nicer one.

Sell 2013 camber for 2006 yeti asr

That's true lol (about the wife). Well after doing research a lot of people are saying that the camber is actually pretty good For xc racing. Also after thinking about it in my opinion the camber hasn't ever held me back at least yet. I'm a pretty firm believer it's not the bike it's the person on top of it.

A 2013 bike of decent quality is going to be better than just about any 2006 bike out there.

Drivetrain, fork, etc. will all be significant improvements over anything that was available in 2006.

I'm an IN 1LT. Spent more than a year there (BCT, OCS, IBOLC, Ranger, ABN). Two of my SLs just came down on RI orders, my PSG heads down to Ranger School tomorrow, and another one of my SLs leaves for ALC/PRC/Ranger next month. My WSL is down there at ALC right now, about to come back. Needless to say, I know Benning well, and will be making more visits, too.

Benning is a paradise compared to Drum. Being a DS, perhaps not so much fun.

Not true about 2013 drivetrain and forks vs 2006. The Fox XC forks have not had major changes since I first got one in 2004. I actually like the old RLC style better then CTD. CTD sucks. Current sids are much better then the 2006ish ones which were were crazy flexy

Brakes are about a wash. XT and XTR brakes from 2006 were awesome. powerful easy to bleed good pad life. Newer ones have reach adjust and are a bit lighter but performance is basically equal.

3X9 drivetrains were great. Stronger and longer lasting chains then 10 speed . I do like 2X10 better because I don't smash the big ring on logs as easy. Front shifting is a little better with 2X but rear is basically the same.

There has been minor improvements in performance of bike parts in the last 10 years and major increases in price. Compare a 2004 sworks epic that weighed 24ish lbs and had an MSRP of 4000 dollars to a 2014 sworks epic at 22 lbs and msrp 10,000. If they still produced the 2004 epic line I bet they would sell like crazy

I race a 2013 Camber Comp. Aluminum frame, X7/X9, Elixir 3R, Reba fork, & Monarch shock. It's working fine for me in Cat3/Beginner. I raced all last season with the bike stock, right off the showroom floor. I was thinking wheels as my first upgrade, rotational weight, but even converting to tubeless will save some weight at minimal cost. Put me on the podium three times in 8 races last season. I put some Maxxis Ikons on for this season...though I really can't say I notice much of a difference in all honesty.Sell 2013 camber for 2006 yeti asr-52462735-nd5a8738.jpg

Get some light wheels and defiantly go tubeless. Lighter wheels are a difference you can feel.
