29 Carbon HT + 29 Aluminum FS or just get 29 Carbon FS

I have a dilemma... I currently own a 2011 Trek HiFi Deluxe that I used for both XC & endurance racing (100 miles, 12 hrs, etc) this year. As I mentioned on another thread I used this bike a lot this year for both training and racing, including looong road rides (even did 85 miles of a road century on it). During my training rides I found myself wanting a lighter 29er HT...

    So here are my options:
    1. Buy a light weight carbon 29er HT and keep my HiFi Deluxe for the gnarlier races/rides. I guess the HiFi would somewhat by a bit a my 'trail bike'
    2. Sell the HiFi and just get a lighter 29er FS.

How about buying a cyclocross or road bicycle for training and off-season racing?

Otherwise I'd buy a 29er HT to complement the HiFi.
