    New Bike Day! :-)

I was fortunate to get a Spot Mayhem 29er during their Labor Day sale and FINALLY got it delivered today. And now, with hurricane Florence on her way, it looks like it will be a while before my local trails will dry out enough to ride so, I've only ridden around the block a couple of times and riding on 29" wheels, coming from 26", I think is going to be a very welcome adjustment. The fit is very good and I feel right at home on it. I'm 5'4" with a 30" inseam so, the bike is a small.

I kind of had second thoughts on getting the red instead of the black but the matte tomato color is really nice. New Bike Day! :-)-spot.jpg and pardon the ridiculous, floofy hair. Humidity wreaks havoc on it.

Yeah, I hadn't either until a couple of months ago when I started researching trail bikes to replace my Turner (15 yrs. old) There isn't a whole lot out there but just enough that it piqued my interest b/c I knew I wanted the DW link again (although, its not, it is a positive comparison). Plus, the background of the company is that they are the founders of Avid brakes so, I felt like longevity is important to them. THe super wide handlebars, in comparison to what I have now, make me feel like I'm driving a tractor trailer! It should be fun! I can't wait to get it dirty!

Very nice ride. Be careful out there. Hope the hurricane isn't as bad as it's forecasted to be.

I know the feeling about the new bike. I got mine less than a month ago and couldn't go riding for almost a week. I didn't know withdraws were that bad.

Tomato > Black for a bike any day. "Stealth" bikes are boring!

Thanks. I'm in VA so, the predictions for heavy rains, wind have lessened so, I'm sure we'll be fine. Praying for those in the Carolinas, though!
