It was the #1 sticky for years. I don't recall the title but it was definitely a "read this before posting" kind of thing. Jeez, I wrote it with Gregg and Francis when I was moderator.

Can you place at the top of the thread listing, instead of 5th in the line of the stickies?
And thank you. My only thought it that if mansplaining needs a definition, there's no hope for the person.

looks like the stickies are ordered by response date. MTBR admin might be able to get a separate note, like in those that were beginners forum but are no longer, that sits at the top. I will see if I can get that implemented.

I bumped it to the top with a reply. That is the only way to move the stickies around.

I made a request in the Mod forum to see if we can get a forum specific sticky or announcement that can ride at the top at all times, then we can dump the sticky and rely on that. I think from my time with admin powers you could add forum specific announcements, just have to wait for the Admins to respond back.

    Isn't it sexist?

After all, there is no sticky telling women that they are guests in any other part of the forum. They are as welcome as anyone, no special instructions required. Isn't it sexist and demeaning to treat men as if they are children who require special instructions?

If there was a parallel situation where women were faced with that you'd soon be complaining. And quite rightly.

So you are saying that if there was a forum where women felt unwelcomed and discriminated against? Welcome to MTBR general forums.

Women feel unwelcomed in most forums, that is what the originating post in the Women's forum was about. They have their own forum to discuss items of their choosing without the veiled, and unveiled, sexism present in the other forums.

Having rules to use forums is not groundbreaking here, many sub-forums have them, rules of engagement, no politics, etc. Men having to tread delicately in the Women's forum is exactly what women have to do in all other forums, seems fair, not sexist.
