    Merlin Cycles??

Just discovered Merlin Cycles. They got really good prices on Schwalbe tires. Are they a pretty reliable operation? I would be ordering from the US, and usually do not order from overseas due to shipping.

Yes! Got some SLX brakes from them sent to CA, prompt shipping.

Now, Schwalbe tires... that's another talk show.

Yes, legit. They had some extremely good prices, but now that they were found out and demand has risen, they are no longer on my bargain hunting radar really. Last time I visited them, I was checking out a Deore 11-42 10spd cassette for under $35, which has since been matched by bike-discount.de (good place to get stuff made in Europe, like Magura, Conti, Schwalbe, etc).

I've been seeing blowout prices ($20-35) on Schwalbe non-Addix (older high end Evo line) for a while. Surprised they're still circulating, as I suspected that the release of Addix tires was the reason for their closeout prices. New Addix tires are a significant improvement over the old stuff.

Off-topic: BikeInn is still a gamble to shop, right? xD

I use to use merlin and discount bikes from Germany. Both legit with good prices especially for shwalbe tires. Ever since theyve raised prices for shipping i just go to either Jenson , arts, or universal cycles. All great sellers.

ok great thanks for the replies back. If I am not mistaken, it looked like two Schwalbe HD Addix tires were like $100 plus $7 for shipping??? They are always like $70-$90 a tire from anywhere over here. Thats why I havnt bought them in a long time, even though they were my favorite tires.

I ordered two Schwalbes with free shipping but their shipper demanded an additional brokerage fee before releasing the shipment from (Canada) customs to Canada Post to deliver. I'm not sure if there are any extra duties/taxes in the US but be aware it could happen.
It's never happened to me ordering from the German sites, but yes they do charge for shipping.

If shipping to the US, make sure to keep the order below 800 USD, which is the "de minimus" limit for which t here should be no customs fee. Anything above that and the carrier will fill out the paper work, pay the customs charge, then hold your shipment hostage till you pay their absurdly inflated fees.

I ordered a Magura brake line chunk from Bikeinn a month or so ago and it showed up in about 7-10 days which is what they projected at the time of order.

I didn't realize that Bikeinn was in Spain until after I ordered it but they had the best price.

Merlin is legit and other UK bike shops like Evan Cycles, etc have been reliable when on the hunt for Hope hubs for less.

Merlin is the best. I got some schwalbe tires from them
A couple weeks ago, shipped, for less than I could find in the US. Their shipping was right on time too. I would definitely order from them again.

Big fan of merlin. My sole source for Schwalbe tires, and I bought a complete Shimano Ultegra R8070 groupset for 33% off. Ships to Michigan exactly as projected at checkout. Even the 2-3 day shipping upcharge was accurate.
