Ebay $25 off $25.01 (YMMV, only some accounts)

FYI, HAPPY25 is giving $25 off $25.01 on some ebay accounts.

Saw it on Slickdeals and it worked on 1 of my 2 accounts (used it to pick up some Stan's sealant).

    Supposed to expire on 9/10.

You can add something with buy it now to your cart and go to the checkout page to test it out -- if your account is eligible, it'll show it taking $25 off, if not it'll show an error about invalid/expired code.

Wow- cool... if you are among the lucky, check your eBay messages Inbox for "A $25 coupon for being with us since the start."

I started buying and selling back in the days when they'd have both scheduled and unscheduled downtime to reindex databases (and you could leave feedback for anyone whether you had conducted business with them or not!).

Dang, they must have a 2001 cutoff for the deal. I joined Jan 10, 2001 and no $25 for me.

Man. I kind of got screwed with this deal. I followed all the rules and bought 2 things that totaled over $25, one that was $20 and one that was just under $6. I received an order confirmation with ship dates for each. The cheaper item showed up today. I went to check status of the other, and it's gone. Error message. It's not in my order history. I went back to the email and clicked the order details button and saw a message saying the order was not successful.

I contacted support and after a long time having a chat with them, I was basically told it was my responsibility to check the order history and realize the item was not there, which is really lousy customer service. I was also told that if I'd contacted them before the coupon expired, I would have been able to get a new coupon. This is also lousy customer service. They never sent an email, never sent an internal message, never indicated anything at all was wrong.

Basically I was told my complaints would go in some nebulous report and that I should check order history next time. That really doesn't sit well with me. If the order is not successful, don't send a confirmation email acting like it was. If an exception occurs, send an email. I don't know if I'm more upset about losing the $20 or about the crappy service at this point.

    OK. Venting over.
