Any deals on Yakima or Thule roof racks?

I need to buy a roof rack (not hitch) to hold 2 bikes and/or 2 kayaks. Any suggestions on which manufacturer is best? Know of any deals out there?

I mix-n-match with both. I tend to like the Yakima stuff the most however.

Agee's has good prices and service. You have to "join" their instant savings club to get the 20% discount.

Thanks....both retailers have the same 20% off pricing. I started window shopping Ebay for the base rack. I'll probably buy bike and kayak trays from the retailers.

I drove by GI Joe's yesterday and saw they had Yakimas on sale. It's worth a look at least.

Why would I need more than one gear?

I buy all of my Yakima stuff from them. They sell Thule too.
If you join their "club" which is free, everything is always 20% plus free shipping.

Been using them for years and have never had a problem.

    Yakima Rocks

I've worked with & sold both Yakima and Thule for about 5 years. I've gotta say that the Yakima has some of the best engineered and most bomber racks out there. I will definitly recommend them.

    Thanks everyone. Yakima it is.

I ended up bidding and winning a set of 'like-new' Yakima gutter towers with SKS locks + 1-extra lock for $59 (with $7 shipping). Now I only need x-bars and bike/kayak trays which I will probably order thru Agees.

Btw, there are suckers on Ebay paying more for trays than what these above merchants sell/ship for.

Speaking of trays...is there one Yakima bike tray that stands out amoung others? Stability is #1, but I would prefer upright just for convenience. I've heard they are less stable than fork mounted trays but the King Cobra looks pretty damn sturdy to me.

Any thoughts on the best Yakima kayak carrier?

Again, many thanks everyone...you are awesome.

I own several vipers & recently purchased a King Cobra and am very pleased with it. It's quite sturdy and I plan on purchasing another.
