Xm481 hope pro4. Is there an upgrade?

I have the dt swiss xm481 on hope pro4 hubs. Is there an upgrade to be had i.e. carbon wheels better hubs?

Depends on your budget. You could get i9, CK, Onyx or similar hubs if you really want to. The rims are good enough.
Then again, you did not mention what kind of trails/terrain and bike youíre riding on, so itís difficult for us to offer anything conclusive.

the better question is why do you need to upgrade? is it because the rim is not as tough as you'd like? want better engagement from hope hub?

DT swiss and Hope hub is pretty bullet proof.

No real reason to upgrade, but who doesnít like shiny shiny new things.
General riding on rocky trails with max 6ft drops. 50/50 mix of up and down so need to be light for all day pedalling.

I am going to be building wheels with xm481 rims on i9 hubs. For an alu rim, not much fancier to go. Next level is going to be carbon.

Hope hubs aren't the snazziest out there, but they are solid. I have a set of pro 2 evo hubs on my fatbike. So there are upgrades to be had in a hub, but I'd be pretty clear with WHAT upgrades I wanted out of a hub before I chose which ones. Weight, engagement, color, whatever.

Alright, and your bike? Is it a trail or enduro bike?

Its a 2019 trek remedy. Think maby ck hubs with carbon reserves.

You could glue some diamonds onto your rims if you want to be a baller

Kings and reserves is a $2200 wheelset. It's nicer than what you have, but not really lighter or anything. Probably a little stiffer and stronger, but man that's an assload of money for wheels.

Id go silly light, with 240 or 180 hubs and have a fast xc set for light duty days.

Diamonds are made of carbon so technically carbon rims = diamond rims.

So it looks like thereís no real benefit then. Iíll look into a new shock for the bike. I wonder if ext make a coil that fits?

There are lots of options for other wheels if you don't like yours.
