Velocity A23 for Rim Brake XC Tubeless

I am in need of a tubeless compatible 26" rim brake rim for xc racing on a vintage frame. Would 32 spoke Velocity A23's be strong enough? It's either that or Velocity Cliffhangers, which are 600g apiece. I am 175lbs with gear and ride pretty mildly.

Any suggestions on a rim that is commercially available (no NOS Stan's 355s or Mavic XM819) and can be easily converted with Gorilla tape or Stan's tape?

I am also considering Alexrims Adventure 2 TRS rims as well. 480g claimed weight and 18.7mm internal width. These are stock on the Surly LHT.

Did anyone ever try this rim for this use? I'm in the same 26"/rimbrake/tubeless need, for a 170 endurance style rider on an old dirtdropped hardtail.

    The Velocity?

The rims are OK, but the tubeless interface is sketchy at best.
