    Tube Question

I have some 26 x 1.9 inner tubes and was wondering if these tubes would inflate for a tire 2.35? Some say it will and some say your asking for trouble. I've always ran the proper size, but I have these tubes laying around. What do you think?

    What's a tube? Just kidding!

It should work fine. Since the rubber will be more streched because of the size, it might be more fragile so beware of the pinch flats...

i've seen this posted before and most say a smaller tube has not caused any issues with them. I myself have used a tube rated up to 2.1 in my 2.35 tire several times with no issues. It just so happened that performance had a bunch of tubes on sale the other day and I was able to find some large tubes made 2.4 tires so I got them. Otherwise I would still be using the 2.1's....

hey thanks for the quick responses! I guess my concern was that there would be extra stress on the part of the tube where the valve is attached. I just didn't want to be bombing down some hill and have them freaking blow on me.

Butyl streches. You might have issues if you use super light/thin tubes but on regular tubes, you shouldn't worry. Now go and bomb down some hills.
