Trek Is Frustrating, Need Rim Info, NOwhere to be Found!

Bought a new 2019 entry level XC bike, Trek Marlin 7. Did some cockpit upgrades (Renthal bars and stem, pedals, FSA Carbon post, etc). I'll need new tires soon and want to know what will fit other than the stock Bontrager XR2's it came with. By fit I mean, innerwidth of the stock rims. I know I need 29" 2.3 max width, will ALL tires that size (Bontrager, Continental, Maxxis) work fitting the rim as far as inner width? Trek says NOTHING about the stock Bontrager Connection rims, other than they are 32-hole double-walled. I search the webs inside out, NO other info in provided by Trek (I get it, ditch the stock junk and upgrade, one day I will). If I'm worrying about nothing please let me know, I'm somewhat of a noob. If all 29/2.2 or 2.3 will fit the rim, then I'll shut up now.

    Stop worrying...

You could always pull the tire off and measure the inside width. Purely guessing it will be 21-24mm.

    All 29" 2.2 and 2.3 will fit.

As a person that has done all sorts of things that are outside of intended use over the years, I can say if the tires will fit in that frame it will be fine. I've mounted 24mm (not quite 1.0 inches) on 21mm rims. It worked fine. I mounted 2.4" tires on 19mm rim too. Worked fine. I'm not suggesting you get extreme, but what you proposed is fine.

They are 20mm internal but like adaycj said, any 2.2-2.3 will be fine. You are not drastically changing tire sizes.
