    New boots for the Trek

Looking for some new tyres for my 29er Fuel. Currently running 2.3 HR2 and Ardent 2.25 both 3c. 29mm internal rim size.

The Ardent is fast rolling but lacking a bit grip wise. The HR2 seems just ok.

Trouble is my riding is mixed from trails with loose surface and roots to XC down bridle paths and long flowing hills.

So there are so many choices out there!

The rear? Rekon 2.4 or Ardent Race 2.35 or DHF2 dual compound 2.3?

    Front? No idea!

Need to be for all round conditions really. Looking for the impossible so have to give somewhere! Bit more rolling speed be good without being ‘too slippery’

I just got a pair of Bontrager XR4s that I run on my hardtail. I really like those tires. Light enough at 800gs each and decent width at 2.4.

I am going to move the XR4 from the back of my hardtail to the back of my Full suspension and get a new XR3 for a little more speed on my hardtail.

So my vote is XR4 front and XR3 rear (having not ridden the XR3 yet...).

I am not really a fan of the Rekon. It's like a less aggressive XR4.

    ^^^ yeah. XR4s, or XR4/3 F/R.
    Do the math.
