Minor defect of Maxxis tires, would you exchange?

Just received my Maxxis Hookworm tires but one of them have this minor defect or maybe it's more serious? Would those spots be more susceptible to fraying ?

It looks like the rough pattern is missing on a few spots? If so, I wouldn't worry about it unless you can see cords or something. It simply looks like the mold was off or something.

Edit: Looking closer at the photos, it appears there's an extra flap of rubber on one side and a split in the other?

One of my hookworms was wobbly. Maxxis pm'd me and said to exchange it would be no problem. I never did exchange it. It still bothers my ocd a little.

Yup, looks like a slash, but isn't? Because part of the logo is printed under it and that part has no tread. And in the second photo it's the same type of "slash" but much smaller. I don't know if this is a big deal though, will it cause problems ?

I concur. I'd return them. These tires typically run higher pressures, so I'd be concerned with the bead failing at those areas. Plus, seller should have not sent defective items.
