Just picked up my first full suspension bike in about 8 years...

I picked up a 2012 Giant Trance x4. The tires are shot on it.... Well at least the rear is, and still the original tires. They're not tubeless. I'm looking to get these switched over to tubeless and maybe even switch up the wheels if I need to. My question is can I just convert to tubeless with the same wheels, or do I need to actually replace the wheels to do that?

I apologize if these are dumb questions. The last time I had a bike put together and upgraded I just paid someone to do it. I figure it's time I learned myself.

    Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

If the wheels are tubeless ready, no problem will need tubeless tires of course.

    Maybe list your wheels?

There are ways to do it ghetto if you hit up youtube.

"ghetto tubeless" is more colorful than accurate. A split tube tubeless setup is very reliable.

Pop your tire off and look at the rim bed.
