Industry Nine hydra hubs in short supply?

I ordered i9 hubs over a month ago but my lbs hasn't received it.

Is there a short supply of these hubs?

    Does anyone know about it?

Have you tried calling i9 directly to ask? They're pretty nice from my experience. <3 my Hydras.

Depends on color, brake interface and driver....you left all that info out.
And the big question....did your lbs actually order them? It would take them a 2 minute phone call to find out the status.

LOL re whether the LBS actually ordered them...! I think that could be the crux.

Back in May, I had my LBS order (supposedly) a set of Hydras for a custom carbon wheelset: orange (mango), centerlock, XD driver. They didnít arrive until mid-Sept...FOUR months later!! And I meticulously and religiously followed up weekly with screenshots and details, but...nothing. At the end of the day, I think it was a combination of the LBS dragging their feet on/forgetting the order, and short supply at Industry Nine, with all the demand for the new Hydras.

In any event, hammer your LBS with follow-ups, and prepare to be very patient. I am thrilled and they were worth waiting for, but it was frustrating as f-ck.

I have worked in the moto and auto parts world....and I have screwed up and not ordered things.
But when I hear shop owners complain about not making it...and then not ordering stuff people order...drives me crazy.

I raced out of a shop that treated me great...as long as it was something they stocked.
I went in and ordered a very expensive part...gave them all the specs and part number. They could have made a $1500 profit from a phone call.(I didn't ask for any discount and even offered to pay in advance)
4 weeks later...it still wasn't ordered....but plenty of excuses were made.
I called the company while standing in front of the shop owner and ordered the product...which was shipped to my house in 2 days.
BTW....that shop closed "because of internet competition"

Your shop sucks. QBP has almost every variety/color in stock.

The 6 bolt hubs are generally in stock. The centerlock hubs are not always in stock.

I think that I9 anodizes in batches. Not sure that QBP actually does have full stock of any hydra configuration. You will probably find black and maybe a few colors, but for a small LBS, thier very well might be some wait time to get a specific configuration and color.

Your lbs should do what you ask of them, without a doubt. That well could have been the whole problem in this case. In the very least, you should be notified of a wait if their is one, because if you really want something they may have an alternative color or something similar they can sell you with minimal wait. I know that while fancy colors of hydra can be hard to get, you can usually settle for black and get it fast, usually.

    Yep, they do.

I ordered Hydra hubs the day they were available to the public. They were a simple ano color (black) which reduced the ship time. But I also wanted the micro spline driver, which added a little time. Also boost centerlock, which had slightly lower availability, IIRC. Wasn't more than a week or two before I had them in hand, and my shop ordered them straight from I9, which is about 10mi away (also speeding things up). I may have gotten in just early enough that I beat the peak order volume. But I was warned about the time.

If you're ordering a full system wheel build, then there's extra time involved for that because I9 builds those to order, by hand.

They have every color in stock for 32h boost 6 bolt front, 32h boost 6 bolt rear XD and 32h boost 6 bolt rear microspline. They have 28h in black for all 3 of those. Centerlocks also just in black.

So universal and qbp are lying? Because I've never seen that happen since universal built this website. (some colors are down to 1 so they may be 0 by the time people see this)

Depends who Picard's shop ordered from. I dunno who i9's Canadian distributor is. I doubt his shop has an account with i9 directly. While they don't exactly keep huge stock of everything, they do keep some stock and because they're small it doesn't exactly take them forever to get to a new production batch.

Didn't know he was in canada. That would definitely make things more difficult

My lbs has no issues ordering from i9 the last time. However it is painfully slow this time.

All other colors are out of stock.

I waited for over 2 months for black hydra hubs without updates.

If your LBS can't take care of you move on to someone who can.
