New question here. I need budget wheels that are tough and durable

I'm from Dallas and I just recently got serious about mountain biking.

I am using a Trek 3900 at the moment and will be upgrading in the near future but I need wheels now for this bike and whoever else in my family will use it. The wheels I have must be very mediocre because I have had a couple minor wrecks (falling over on a tight turn or sliding in loose dirt) and each time the wheels get bent so much I can't ride. I'm not sure if its my weight (240) or that the wheels are just weak.

I need advice on what wheel I should get as replacements that aren't too pricey but are tough enough for single track that is challenging but not huge jumps or anything.

    Thanks Everyone!

    Rim or disc brake?

For disc, this'll take care of you.

They are rim brakes but rim/disk combo wheels would be fine as well. Those look like something I would be interested in if I had disk brakes, thanks for the info.

There are some good deals on that site for rim brake wheels as well, but I don't think there's a deal as ridiculously good as the one in my link.

I believe i'm in the same boat as the OP. I have a Raleigh Talus 3.0 and the wheels simply aren't pulling their weight, or mine! Thanks for the links guys.
