    Hub Play

Trying to get a sense if this hub play is correct. Brand new bike, not ridden on the trail yet. Front hub spacer/cap has wiggle play in it.

When tightened in the fork there is still play that you can feel when moving rim around as well as hear.

    Thoughts?

If brand new means from a shop check the front wheels of any others in stock including other models using the same wheelset or hub. The service techs should be able to check your hub. I like to check other examples first.
    I wouldn't like that play.

I'd take it back to the shop where you bought it and have them take a look. Without any specific information about the model of the bike or the hub, there's no way to tell what's happening there.

I would expect the cap to be loose with the wheel off the bike, but a properly tightened front axle skewer should snug it up.

I had a brand new Hope hub with a bad bearing. It happens. Have the shop take care of it.
