How do you "seat" a DT 350 freehub onto the hub?

No matter how hard I push down on the freehub it won't "seat" onto the hub.

Perhaps it is seated and just not making the expected noise?

My only experience is with current 350/shimano, and there's no snap. A very slight thud perhaps, even less so with cassette installed.

It does not snap into place. Then end cap usually holds it on, but the friction of the o-ring in the end cap is not always enough to hold it all the way down. Once it is mounted in the frame it will be secure.
