dt xm 421 vs wtb kom light

    Hi

I plan to build new wheelset for cross country and single tracks, not very technical and no jumping.
    My weight is ~80k

    Using shimano M8110 boost hub

I look at 29" 32H 'dt swiss xm 421' and 'wtb kom light i25'
Which one is more recommended ?

    Thanks

I have wider rims of both brands the DT Swiss XM481 has lasted the longest and Ive abused them and run 29x2.3 tires. Im 73K but I ride a lot and look for jumps and drops. I have the WTB Asym35 too. Theyre strong too but wider and have 29x2.5 tires or bigger that probably protects the rim a little.

I went back and forth between a DT Swiss XM421 and WTB KOM. Went w/ DT Swiss as I read the KOM could possibly dent easier.

If you are XC riding take a look @ the DT XR391 - same inner width as the rims you have mentioned.

    Thanks,
I saw the 391, the difference is around 25 grams. The question is whether this is worth because the 421 max rider weight is 120 vs 110

I don't think i'd factor in the max rider weight into the equation as your weight doesn't come close.

The XM is probably a stronger rim but it really depends on how you ride. I am not sure the XM421 weighs as advertised. My Apline scale weighed the XM a little over 25g heavier.
