    Bitex BX211R questions

I posted yesterday asking about Sun Ringle SRC hubs, Iíve come across the Bitex BX211R and am considering theses as well, I would like some additional information. Does anyone have any personal experience with these particular hubs ? How do Bitex hubs sound, I prefer a louder hub and am hoping they are not quiet, thanks.

    Rigid SS 29er

    SS cyclocross
    Full Sus 29er (Yuck)

Stop asking how much it weighs and just go ride it.

I have Bitex on my gravel bike ^^ Mr. OneSpeed ^^ suggested them and it's a great hub, loud enough not to be annoying, really solid engagement. About 800 miles on them.

Oops, sorry JCD, since then I have reversed my opinion on Bitex hubs, mostly for bigger guys and/or stronger riders. Mine died hard, repeatedly, and ended up being very unreliable, not to mention lousy customer service from BHS. I've posted my experience in other threads.

It seems some people are having good luck with the hubs, but heavier riders should look elsewhere.

No worries at 160lbs, I don't break stuff.

It's not really weight that does it. I think it's hammering style riding. If you're trying to blast out of corners, it seems bitex doesn't hold up.

I've used 10 sets and sold probably 100, zero issues with the hub. I had some early gritty Enduro bearings, but that's on enduro and their junk bearings, not bitex. A set of skf's solved that.

I moved on, but I have nothing bad to say about bitex. I also have worked with Brandon on and off for maybe a decade, no issues.
