Anyone seen a Microspline driver for a Hope hub yet?

I just read that Hope was granted licensing on January 1st.

I want to put a twelve speed drivetrain on my new fat bike and would love to use a Shimano XT cassette.

I've only seen them listed on UK sites so far. Here is one https://www.ddcycles.co.uk/product/h...-freehub-body/
There are also Chinese versions but I would be afraid to try one of those.

It looks like they will only ship to the UK and Europe. It will probably be a while before they are available in the US.

I just ordered a wheel set with them from Cycle Wheels USA. They’re available as a option on the website (and I chatted with the owner as well), so I imagine they’re available to vendors to sell individually as well.

I really hope they make a micro spline freehub body for a hope 2 evo sometime soon.

OK... My friend, Evan at the bike shop who usually makes all my ideas into reality no matter how quirky found Microspline drivers. All we needed to tell them was my hub width. Not sure why. I would think theyre the same based on the axle but whatever. Told em 197 and now I have one on the way. Not steel. I asked.

I believe he is getting it right from Hope. I have a Pro 4 on this particular build so hopefully, that's what it's for. He told them Pro 4 and 197 so...

I found some Hope 4 microspline freehubs on Aliexpress. No idea how good or reliable they are. But the price can't be beat lol.

I've put enough miles on a shimano microspline freehub to know that if the hope one gets messed up it's cuz hope screwed the pooch. I've had no trouble shredding aluminum old shimano style (brainfart on what those are called) i've owned, but microspline has been flawless. Nary a mark. Steel is completely unnecessary here.

I didnt ruin the splines on an aluminum Shimano type Hope driver. I wrinkled the pawl pockets on the backside. Put a 265 person that can leg press 800 pounds on a fat bike with unlimited traction and send me up a steep hill. Somethings gonna give. Ive also stretched the rivets on XT cassettes. Im not so worried about the splines.

That may be why Shimano is being so weird about the license. I don't think their own hubs use pawls anymore. They seemed quick to hand dt the OK to make one.

Does anyone have any details on the New SLX or XT wheel sets with microspline from Shimano. Im looking for a review or even a place to buy them from.

I don't weigh as much as you, and i can't claim the same leg press number. (but i remember 650 was easy when i was fat and out of shape...) On alu hope hyperglide freehubs i've had individual XT cogs cut through the splines, stretched out the pawl sockets, and totally crack a freehub. The hope alloy hyperglide freehubs are just not appropriate for us. The steel ones are fine.

My point is only that alu microspline is holding up nicely where the alu hyperglide freehubs got mangled. Pretty cool! The fact that hope hyperglide freehubs are shitty is beside the point. (although they're consistent with their bearings and freehub seal...)
