    45North Nicotine studded 29er tires

Thinking of picking up a pair for riding in icy conditions this winter. They are pricey. Anyone have any experience riding them? How well do they work? How's the tire durability and how long do the studs last?

They are 29x2.35 but do they run true to size? I was going to mount them on a 45mm rim but I wonder if that is too wide.

I have a fat bike with 4.6" tires for deep snow but I'd rather still ride my 29er when conditions permit but need studs to stay up on the ice.

I know this is an old thread but I recently bought these tires and mounted them up to Surly Rabbit Hole rims. I usually ride fat 4"+ tires in winter but sometimes it can be overkill when there' not too much powder, rather icy hard packed snow. I am very impressed with its performance. Not sure about how long the studs would last as I've been riding them for a few days, so it's too soon to say. As for width, I'd imagine they are wider than thinner 29er rims as I have them on 50mm rims. Pretty happy about these tires.
