    29" Tires Sizes

Hello all and thanks for taking a moment to read my question!

I'm in need of 2 new tires for my 29er (front & rear).

    On my Bicycle's rim is printed 29 x 2.20

A friend of mine wants to give me a set of 29 x 2.40 tires.

Will his tires fit properly on my Mountain Bike?

I'm primarily concerned if the bead of the new tires will seal well against the rim.

    Thanks again!

I think you should measure the inner width of the rim (take tire off and use caliper) and depending on the bike you have issues with a 2.4 fitting the frame... you can measure the frame space to get an idea but really the only sure way to know is to try them.
