    spring BC trip

We are considering a spring BC trip instead of our annual pilgrimage south to Utah or other desert MTB destinations due to....well I think we all know why some Canadians don't want to travel south if they don't have to.

Our riding season in Fernie usually starts sometime in May, but it is hit and miss for weather during spring. We would like some decent weather and good riding sometime between late April (have to get the trailer dug out of the snow still!) and May 20th. Probably 10-14 days, pulling a trailer. Thinking coastal or Okanagan. Not interested in wet, muddy riding (getting away from that here!). Can be somewhat flexible based on weather but would like some goals. First choice is places that have camping/biking close together. Not interested in taking the ferry (too $$).

    Thanks for input!

Kamloops! Vernon Kelowna Penticton and Merritt should keep you busy for 2 weeks.

Certainly seems to be a long wet spring in the works on the coast.

Okay cool, the weather should be good all through there. Any campground recommendations in any of those areas? I will start looking at the sticky about these areas. Any additional info is appreciated.

Camping at alice lake in Squamish would be a good time all my favourite trails are there. Ferry opens up some good early season options, sunshine coast you only pay 1 way so that would be cheaper than Vancouver Island. Weather out here could be anything that time of year, we'll definitely have stretches that it's 20 and sunny and some that are 30mm of rain. But lots of trails clear by then.

Knutsford Campground in Kamloops, up the hill on 5A. Nice shady spots. Ellison Provincial Park near Vernon. Trails right from the campground. Can't speak for Kelowna and Penticton.
