    Riding in Whitehorse

Hi, my wife and I are moving out of Alaska and headed down to the lower 48. We're driving through Whitehorse and would like to stop and hit some trails while we're there. Any "must ride" trails? Tips? Warnings? Would our car with our belongings be safe at the trailhead? Thanks in advance.

When will you be passing through the Yukon? What sort of trails do you like?

We'll be driving through in mid June. We'd prefer trails with great scenery for this trip.

In Whitehorse the Yukon River trail and Starbuck's Revenge are going to have your best scenery. Mountain Hero in Carcross would also be well worth your time, but may not be snow free in mid-June.

There is a Whitehorse trail app you can buy or printed maps are available at local shops. Most trails are well signed and there are maps at major trailheads.

    No worries about your belongings.

The only warning is you might not want to leave, the trails here are awesome.

Best coffee in town is Midnight Sun Coffee Roasters who are conveniently located inside Icycle Sport, one of our bike shops.

Can anyone provide a trail conditions update for the Whitehorse/Carcross area? Are the trails on the lower part of the mountain at Carcross open/dry?

I'm thinking of heading there for the upcoming long weekend (May 22-25) from Fairbanks. It's a long drive, and trying to decide if it would be better to do later in the summer when the highcountry riding is dry. From all I've read/heard the trails are sweet!

    Thanks in advance...
