    Northern Vancouver Island

Every year i go up with my family to Tahsis, BC to go fishing. Recently getting into MT biking i was wondering if there are any trails in the Tahsis/Gold river area or is it mainly just biking on the logging roads?

Some of the best trails on the island are in that area. Check out the Gold River photos at pinkbike:

Pedalhounds is an island bike site that has a directory of all the island shops...(at least we hope we do..haha):

Have fun man, wish I was up there to go riding...

I'm not sure if there are any trails per say to ride in Tahsis, but there is lot's of wilderness. If you do find trails, they are likely form elk and bears.....lots of bears in Tahsis, so be prepared to pedal quickly. I used to take part in an archery club bear hunt in Tahsis each year. Never did see any other mountain bikers...........
You probably can get a good cardio workout pumping up some of the hills however.

Ya, thats what i thought, probly gonna have to stay to the logging roads. coming from Reno, Nevada at 5500 feet the hills shouldn't be to bad to go up... hopefuly
