    Kakanaski camping & riding?

Howdy all, I'll be coming down from Canmore in mid June. I drove highway 40 last year (AMAZING) and want to get back in there to explore. Can someone recommend some camping "back in there" that has access to some good (intermediate) backcountry riding? I am working on reservations this week.

Pointers to trail beta would be awesome.

    Thanks!!!!

Not many sanctioned camping facilities in Kananaskis Country itself

there's more camping options out beyond Bragg Creek, the other side of the mountains to the east from hwy 40

There's a bunch of riding accessible from the West Bragg Creek side that take you up to or above the treeline, and comparatively less options on the hwy 40, primarily the trails that are accessible from the Barrier Lake and some bikepacking routes from Kananaskis Village.

Coming down from Canmore. I have as much time as I want. Seriously, maybe 2 days but I could do more.

The Plaid Goat MTB festival starts June 20 in Canmore. Are you around for that?

Update: I'm going back. Hub starts Tour Divide race in mid June.

I reserved a camp spot near Lower Kanananskis lake for a couple of nights. Any trail recs? For solo riding I stick to intermediate, non-epic trails. :-) Have my bear spray and know how to use it.
