Here in Sooke we are pretty hopeful that we will be holding an event at Harbourview. The track
is buffed, and we just need to get the details nailed down.

Great. Will the Island Cup site be updated at some point?

Here’s the news that everyone has been waiting for!

The Inaugural Vancouver Island Cup Fall Super D Series

Thanks for the patience by everyone as we launch this new race series. The volunteers who work tirelessly to provide you these races on their days off have a busy schedule with Cross at this time of year and we have tried to minimize overlap for those of you multisport participants.

    What’s Super D?

Super D or Super Downhill, is all those race courses that don’t fit your regular 3-5 minute sprint course. For this year our courses will range from 9 minutes in Victoria to the rally race in Parksville of almost 20 minutes.

Each race will have a different format and final course details are coming shortly. Check out the Victoria Dumpster Dive hosted by Pro City Racing for the first example.

These races are going to be best suited to the All-Mountain bikes that have become the one bike stable of many islanders. Bring your riding buddies from the year and make this an end of the season test of your year’s improvements. Race head to head in the mass start events or against the clock in the timed events.

As with all Island Cup Events, Cycling BC licenses apply. Your race license for mtb is still valid for this series and $10 one day licenses are available for those without.
    Race Schedule

    * #1 Victoria Dumpster Dive – Sunday Oct 24th – Hosted by Pro City Racing
    * #2 Nanaimo – Sunday Nov 7th – Hosted by Oak Bay Bikes Nanaimo
    * #3 Port Alberni – Sunday Nov 14th – Hosted by Alberni Valley Riders
    * #4 Parksville – Sunday Nov 21st – Hosted by Arrowsmith MTB Club

    * Dates subject to change due to weather or other unforseen circumstances

We're short of weekends this year. Next year we'll have more to the series, and start it a bit earlier. It's the challenge of volunteers who are working hard on both Cross races and the Super D

An approved helmet in good shape and working bike are required as per cycling bc insurance. What style you chose is up to you.

Each race has a different format. Information for each race will give details.
