    Cypress Hills Provincial Park Beta

Trails look fun. I'm going on a family trip there and thinking of bringing a drop bar bike to get one long ride in and some short hits. Steel frame, 42c tires, flared dirt bar and hydro brakes. I do enjoy bringing a knife to a gunfight often.
My mountain bike is fairly high end so I prefer the other ride so I'm not constantly worried about my carbon fanciness.

I realize I won't be able to "shred" but I want to cover a lot of ground and see the views. Seems like the dropbar bike is the way to go. So I basically answered my own question but any insight is appreciated

Machete only rides mountain bikes, but I figure if you like drop bars you'll have fun!

Howdy Yahsper. I'll give you my insight.
I did some riding down there last September long weekend. I quite enjoyed it. However, I did find the trails a bit rough compared to Edmonton and Jasper. I've never ridden a bike like you describe, I've only ever had hardtails. But I would think that if ride that bike in jasper, it would be fine in Cypress. Just a little more work. Also they recently build a downhillish/all-mountain style trail so you might want to bring full suspension as well. That trail was a little much for my hardtail but I made it down without an unfortunate incident.
    Either way have fun!
