Token Ultralite expander cap for offroad usage?

Hi, does anyone know if this is strong enough to keep the headset tight on a mountain bike?

If not, are there any other compression plug / expander caps that are any good? How about the Ring-Go-Star? Thanks!

no, stick to a standard starnut/top cap/bolt - my starnut (cut in half) top cap (syntace) and bolt (aluminium) is 14 grams. that token expander was 13 with an aluminium bolt (stock is steel) and it didn't hold either the mtb or roadbike headset tight.

The lightest solution is no expander, cap or spider.
as it is the stem with enough force in his bolts what makes the work, not the cap

I use the headset mounting tool to press the stem in his place before tightening the bolts,
    and that's all, 0g

and I ride enduro/all mountain without problems

If you cant get it adjusted right try this http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/114...ock-System.htm
and simply remove it when you have your stem tight.

what happens if you have an off and your stem rotates around your steerer? you won't be carrying a headlock with you on the trails. this is one situation where the 14grams are worth carrying.
