Token Carbon grips. WHAT THE ****?!?!

Alright, now I'm as much as a weight weenies as most of you guys. I love my carbon parts even if they have no real advantage.

BUT, token has just taken it too a whole new level of stupidity. On their website, they have Carbon lock-on grips listed, claimed 110grams.

Will someone please tell me I'm wrong when I say this is one very stupid part?

And how on earth are you going to hold onto a piece of carbon when it rains, they don't even have a rough surface to hold onto!!

    Unreal.

Too bad they're white and say token on them. They could look good on a cruiser.

I saw those at Interbike. They have a rubbery coating so using them in the rain and when sweaty wouldn't be a big deal. However, they still didn't look or feel comfortable, nor would I use them. Not bad looking if you're going for the all carbon look though.

    Dealer

I just got on the Token website and saw that they had some Ti Square Taper BB's. Have any of you used them? I think they may be cool for my WI single speed cranks. Its hard to find a Ti Square Taper that is not Phil these days. Ohh, by the way who are the Token dealers here in the USA??? Thanks ahead of time for your help.

I've seen them at Eurobike... I remember I've told one of my friends: "It must be very slippy in muddy conditions"

The weight on my own scale: (-> really heavy...)

    Puhleeeeze!

I would HATE to have to try and hold onto those [lack-of] grips!!! The weight seems WAY heavy too. Pretty bad when grips end up weighing more than my whole bar! I think I'll stick with my Titec Pork-Rinds.

    Just me.
