    SRM question

Im looking at buying a cannondale mtb srm powermeter,
i already own a mtb powertap but want to upgrade, i have been using the powertap with a Garmin 500 and had no problems at all,
i know that the SRM is ANT+ compatible so it will work with the garmin

    my question is
do i need the Powercontol 7 head unit?
what other features dose it have that the garmin doesn't, and is it worth the extra $750

I could be wrong about this but I think the SRM cranks only work with there head units even though they are on the ANT+ format. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

    It works.

So far my SRM XO power meter works fine with my Garmin Edge 800.
    Go for it!
Pretty good at everything, but not really good at anything!

That link says nothing about why powermeters are good...
So, why are they good for cycling?

I'm a guy that doesn't even use a watch to see the time when riding the bike. The sun position is my best watch

FSA system costs 3,510.50 EUR incl. 19 % Tax excl. Shipping costs... lol does it have solid gold inside?
    maybe...

It will work fine with Gamin 800 or 705. Also works with Powercontrol 6 or 7. Go with Tune's SRM if $ is no factor.

I would personally use a powertap SL, less likely to get knocked out of calibration from hitting chainrings on rocks... Works good with Garmins also.
