More lighter UST tires from Hutchinson...

    2006 Models -

    Hutchinson Piranha 2.0

    Tubeless Light:

    <table border="0" cellspacing="3" width="100%"> <tbody><tr><td><center class="style13"> Dimensions </center></td> <td><center class="style13"> ETRTO </center></td> <td><center class="style13"> TPI </center></td> <td><center class="style13"> PSI/bars </center></td> <td><center class="style13"> Beads </center></td> <td><center class="style13"> Weight </center></td> </tr> <tr> <td><center class="style2"> 26 x 2.00 </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> 51-559 </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> 66 </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> / </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> TS </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> 595 g </center></td></tr></tbody> </table>
    Air Light version:
    <table border="0" cellspacing="3" width="100%"> <tbody><tr><td><center class="style13"> Dimensions </center></td> <td><center class="style13"> ETRTO </center></td> <td><center class="style13"> TPI </center></td> <td><center class="style13"> PSI/bars </center></td> <td><center class="style13"> Beads </center></td> <td><center class="style13"> Weight </center></td> </tr> <tr> <td><center class="style2"> 26 x 2.00 </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> 51-559 </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> 127 </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> / </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> TS </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> 450 g </center></td> </tr> <tr> <td><center class="style2"> 26 x 2.30 </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> 58-559 </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> 66 </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> / </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> TS </center></td> <td><center class="style2"> 620 g </center></td></tr></tbody> </table>

I am going to see about getting some to see the real weight. My Bull Dog Tubeless Light and Pyhton Tubeless Light tires came in right about the claimed weights.

It looks like a semi-slick, but a nice light UST option for Hardpack.
Here is a another new one called the Barracuda, but not as light.

    Barracuda

dirt boy - is the bulldog you have the one that they are claiming 665 grams for? what did it come in at? I am thinking that is the best option for some enduro racing coming into winter down here in OZ.

Also, please share - was the new gen python tubeless light really around 625 grams.

    cheers, john.

so, has anyone actually ridden these, and can maybe rate how they do at not packing up with mud?

hmm, these do look good. i figure the Python sits inbetween these tyres (tires!) in terms of knob size/grip, with the Piranha ideal for really dry/hardpack conditions and Barra for something a bit more loamy/soft. Barra would be good as an allround/allconditions tyre perhaps?

i'm gonna have to wear my Python's out quickly now so i can try something different.

oh, availability? are they in the shops yet? no doubt will be there in the US before here in Oz as well.

Is there a Python UST 2.30 yet? If so, does anyone know of the weights?

Tires are becoming more interesting! (or maybe it's just me)

Anyone have any knowledge on cubber compound or durometer?

Those Piranhas are the ones I posted a question about a while back after reading Shiggy's post on the tire forum. I may order one or two from you if the weight isn't too bad. I'll at least try them out as training tires.

hutchinson will release some "tubeless ready" tires next year.

Ust bead, classical light casing, needing latex.
