    frame ideas

so my friend is thinking of gettting a new frame. He rides a 19 inch specialized epic and is thinking that he might need to go to a 20 inch. He looking for a hardtail, not crazy light, and not too expensive. any suggestions.
    thanks

I second the Kula Primo (scandium). Not big money and plenty light. Mine is 1381g - 19". Rides so nice.

I just picked up a brand new Salsa Bandito frame off Ebay for less than $200. It's a nice aluminum frame, with nice welds and it is quite stiff and light. I'm pretty impressed with Salsa so far.

Why not buy a custom steel frame? It'll be lighter than the epic and the geometry will be perfect, it'll have the forgiving ride of steel, and cost less than most bling hardtail frames. Check out the 2 builders in my signature.
