    to all formula b4 users

    Hi,

Where do you get your brake pads from and for how much?

I am living in Australia and am having trouble finding some.

    Cheers
    KElvin

A2Z makes brakepads for formula -your local bikeshop should be able to get those even though you live in australia!

EBC cross country pads no good.

I recently installed some EBC cross country pads on my Formula B4 and they are quite a bit less powerful than the stock Formula pads. I have over 100 miles on them already, with lots of braking, so they should be bedded in by now. I think EBC also makes another version that might be better. The cross country version is too weak to stop my 160 pounds as fast as I need.

I'm getting mine from Notube's Australian distributor Saul Britton. They are going for AUD $22.50 for a set.

    Original Formula pads much better.

The Formula pads are sintered bronze. The green EBC are organic and are the weakest pad EBC offers. EBC also offers a red version (semi-metallic?) and gold which is also sintered bronze. I imagine the gold EBC pads would be more comparable to the original Formula pads. The green EBC definitely does not provide the stopping power of the original Formula pads.

The reason for the greens were my last set of formula disc brakes were squealers and didnt' stop that well. I did the same with the b4sl's. I can truly say that they are equal to the stockers and work just fine. I could not feel a lack of performance even with my 180lbs body.

What pads came with your B4s?

I've had 3 sets of B4, including 2 SLs and all came with sintered bronze pads. I believe the newer B4s, & possibly the older ones as well, were available with organic pads. The difference between a metallic & organic pad is substantial - the metallic pads produce much more braking power.
