    650b vs 26" wheel builds

I wanted to go a tad wider on my Santa Cruz, so I had these built:

    BOR XMD333+ rims (24.3mm inner width, 355g)
Tune King/Kong hubs (15/12TA, XD driver)
    Sapim CX-Ray spokes, alu nips

Without axles and discs: 650g front and 742g rear

So now I'm trying to build up a new set of 26" wheels for my singlespeed:
    Stans Arch MK3 (26mm inner width, 406g)
    Tune Singlespeeder/King hubs (QR)
    Sapim CX-Ray spokes, alu nips

I guess I'm surprised that the smaller rims are heavier than the bigger rims... The only other comparable rim I've found (without going to carbon) is the Ryde Trace XC 25 (24.8mm, 400g). I want to run +2.4" tires, otherwise I'd go with the Crest MK3 (23mm, 326g).

Anyone see some room for improvement? As far as budget goes, I'd like to stay under 600€...
