    Pinkbike Trailforks

    Pinkbike Announces 'Trailforks' - Pinkbike

This is pretty cool, we need someone big enough to take the reigns and link all the state groups together in terms of trail information. Would be cool if it could be tied into the Evergreen site redesign somehow.

Trailforks has been running for a while. It's odd they just now write about it.

I didn't realize that it had been out already. It's a neat idea, hope it takes off.

    That's a cool deal.
There's a big difference between ripping and skidding. Those who skid don't know how to ride.

Looks awesome! Gotta check it out in more detail. Did anybody see a way to download GPS tracks?

I just post a bunch of my gpx files on there. Does not look like they will show until some people confirm them. Pretty cool idea, hopefully they'll get more contributions. If anyone wants to go under Washington and verify the ones, i posted...

John, Did you see a way to download GPX files from the site (vs upload)?

Yes, find the trail you want to download under trails, go to the very bottom of the page and there is a download gpx option

It sounds like in the future it may allow you to join certain trails to create a route, which would be really cool.

And you have to be logged in to see the download box. Thanks!

Yes a route system is coming, we wanted to get a good base of trails first.

You need to login to the site in order to download gpx, kml, or osm files for a trail.
There is the ability to download KML or OSM for all trails in an entire region. But currently its only available to people we setup as region admins (usually someone from a local trail association). But if you had some personal need for a the trails in a region, you can contact me and I can create a data dump.
