    Yeehaww, lock up your daughters!!!

The Capt is coming to town!!! Well its official, I got the job in Dublin, so I'll be looking to hook up with some local riders in the Radford, Blacksburg, Roanoke area for mtn and road rides, I can ride any level, most refer to me as a hammerhead. Plus I'll still be able to go to the Slatyfork shuffle. See you soon davis!

Yeah I am so excited to get out of NJ (but I promised the NJ people i won't bash it). We'll have to hook up once I get settled for some rides. Plus you can show me around the local races. Its a comforting thought knowing that Douthat will be my new "local" ride.

Yesterday, just before riding Two Lick, we ran into two riders from Ohio who take an annual VA/WV excursion. I gave them some local info and asked where they had been. They just came from Douthat. I told them we were just there as well. We compared notes and lo and behold one of the Ohio guys informed of a previously unknown-to-me route just south of Douthat and he claims the descent is twice as good as anything in Douthat. We're headed over next weeekend to check it out. Film at 11.

Spookykinkajou: I'll PM you what I know about this ride, maybe you can hit this weekend.

    Welcome to the neighborhood, Captain!!!

If you're looking for road rides around Blacksburg, sign up for the VT cycling listserv. Go to http://www.cycling.org.vt.edu/, click on Contacts/Links and scroll down some for instructions. They've been regularly doing a race ride on Wednesday nights at 6, and Sat/Sun rides in the morning.

There might be some mtn biking stuff going on as well, just haven't seen any postings. You can stop by East Coasters (www.eastcoasters.com) and pick up a trail map and go explore some. If you've got any questions let me know and I'll try and find you an answer.

Thanks SplijinX. I found the eastcoasters site and the NRV site as well. There are a lot of road rides down there, I think a century is on for August 20. I'll be in touch when I get down there.
