We the people ... Spring trail work - Frederick Watershed

We are kicking off spring trail work in the Watershed with a trail work WEEKEND. We'll be working Saturday (April 1) and Sunday (April 2) so if you can't make one day, come out for the other. This is an official trail work event done in coordination with The City of Frederick.

We'll be meeting at the Hamburg parking lot. If you can make it, RSVP or let me know. Having a head count helps us a lot!

We'll have tools but if you have your own, feel free to bring them.

What should you bring? Gloves, water, snacks and a good attitude! Wear clothes you can get dirty and boots are always a good idea. Thanks!

Location: Hamburg Parking Lot, 10420 Hamburg Road, Frederick, MD 21702

    Date/Time: April 1st 9am - 1pm, April 2nd 9am - 1pm

RSVP for day April 1st at this link: Invitations, Free eCards and Party Planning Ideas from Evite
RSVP for day April 2nd at this link: Invitations, Free eCards and Party Planning Ideas from Evite

    THANKS!

Time lapse video showing 2 days of bridge and rock work in under 3 minutes. Watch it on a big screen, not your phone. Who knew trail building was so quick and easy?

Thanks again to everyone who helped out.

Any recent news about riding in the Shed? Coming from out of state this weekend and wanted to spend an afternoon doing some further exploring.

Any specific info you are looking for? Current conditions are good. The city continues to more forward on implementing their trail plan they voted on in December. (see article: https://www.fredericknewspost.com/ne...e98fde7c7.html)

I was out with one of the City staff yesterday reviewing a new trail route. They are trying to verify some property lines before they blaze or map trails, they are hoping to resolve some of that soon.

Is it ok to explore or have some areas/trails become off limits for riding? I'm aware of the history, and I guess I'm wondering if it's ok to ride stuff that appears on the Trailforks map.

They have not done any trail closures at this time. Go ahead and ride, be respectful to other users, don't dump trash and don't build more trails. That will keep our good relationship with the land managers.

Skink, New Berg, Vandal - incredible!! Still haven't ridden in the drops area or any of the downhill trails other than the stuff on the Gambrill side of Hamburg Road. Everytime I ride at Gambrill/Watershed, I'm blown away. You guys have done some amazing trail work. What an incredible place to ride a mountain bike.
