    Snowshoe Mountain???

DOes anyone have any idea if the mountain will be closing any trails the week before the race starts this aug. I am heading up for a good time but hope they do not have too many trails closed.

I've heard they're going to try to keep the freeride park open during norba week. I don't know how since part of the XC race course goes through there but they want to provide riding opportunities for non racers this year.

August 3-7 the freeride park will be closed to bikes for IBO bowhunting competition. In exchange they are going to run the western lift and have the DH courses marked to get some practice runs in.

Keep and eye on http://ride.snowshoemtn.com for info.

I'm not from around that area but I'm doing the norba and was wondering if the race was at altitude?

The peak of Snowshoe Mountain is 4848'. The start of the course is about 4750' and is around 1600' vertical in about 2.5 miles of trail.

Enough to make your ears pop but doesn't affect breathing much.

Snowshoe is an "upside down" resort. Where the village sits on top of the mountian.

I also heard that they are not going to run the Western Lift on Wed-Fri this week.

    Hey

Thanks for the info on the lifts. As for the course of the race I am not sure but I do know that the alt. that the resorts is at to the bottom of the last trail is close too 3300 feet so if this is the alt that you are sking bout then yeepp it is at alt.
