    Riding snowshoe alone?

I have never ridden a bike park and have always wanted to. I am likely going to be near snowshoe in June.
What is the general consesus on riding alone at the bike park? Are there many other riders out during the week or is it usually pretty sparse?

You'll be fine but make sure the lifts are running. I went up on a Wednesday once and was bummed that the western lift wasn't running. Only had the short side toward the basin running.

some people will tell you it's crazy. I don't know anyone that's into DH so I ride alone most of the time, unless I meet someone at the park.

I've never been to Shoe on a weekday, Weekends you'll run into people. As said above, don't just assume they're open.

You should be fine. I ride there all the time by myself. The lifts only turn Thur-Sun. If you want someone to ride with send me a pm; I try to make it up at least one day every weekend.

I ride Snowshoe alone at times. However, it is more fun with people to push you and make sure that if you do something dumb they are there to help. There will be plenty of people around if a mishap happens while you are solo. I don't do the riskiest stuff there alone though.

Sometimes you will meet up with another solo rider or even a group and finish the day with them. Has happened to me a few times riding parks.

that's worth repeating; the 3-bike lifts at Snowshoe (and others) tend to be pretty social, just jump in with a group of 2 and you often have new riding buds by the top.

that's one thing I don't like at Blue mountain - 1 bike per lift means no non-awkward way to ride the lift with strangers.

If you go on a weekend when the weather is nice, the park will be crowded enough to the point you'll always have someone in front or behind you within a couple minutes max. I'm in the same boat, not many DH friends so I typically ride the trails alone.
