    RICHMOND Area Inquiry

My company might be transferring me into a position down in the Richmond area. I've been researching the mtb scene through mtbr as best I can. Can anyone give me advise on somewhat rural/ light suburban areas near the city that I should look at for relocation? We have a 4 year old, so preferably someplace with good schools and nearby singletrack (hoping for the best of both worlds). Thanks! Tom.

I'm a 32 year native of western Hanover County. Hanover or Chesterfield counties, both can be as rural as you want depending on how far out you go within the county and both have excellent schools. Western Hanover county is near Poor Farm Park and Chesterfield county is near Pocahontas state Park.
Other options are Goochland and Powahatan counties but the schools aren't as good. Henrico county has great schools too but suburban sprawl has taken over....ok if you don't mind being close to your neighbors but not my cup o tea.
