    Loch Raven MD, the reservoir

Any trails around the Loch Raven reservoir? Also, can you kayak on it? I work in Towson, and live in PA, so I'm looking for riding along that route (along I-83), and suggestions? Not really interested in the rail-trail either.

Plenty of trails around Loch Raven. Kayaking you need a permit ($50 if I recall).

Also check out the trails of Lake Redman just south of York, PA. I-83 literally splits the park in half (there are two tunnels that let you go under the highway).

Thanks. Yeah, I bike Redman/Williams at least once a week, and Rocky Ridge is only 4 miles from my place, so I can ride there and back in a jiffy. Where do you park around Loch Raven?

There are two main parking areas:
    - Corner of Dulaney Valley and Seminary, trail starts just off of the east part of Seminary
    - Further up Dulaney Valley by the bridge that crosses the reservoir. Trails are on the left side of the road, on both sides of the bridge.

None of the trails out there are marked so try to hook up with someone so you can learn them. If you go to Motionbased.com and type in "Loch Raven" you might find some useful routes.
