The Fair Hill Classic is back!
Fair Hill Classic. July 8th, 2017. Fair Hill Fairgrounds. Elkton, MD. Food, beer, awesome trails. The Classic will be a lapped race around 8 miles per lap. 6hr. endurance. Male and female singlespeed and fat bike categories. Possible kids race. Still working on that.
Our race will be a old school mountain bike race. Like things used to be before racing got to serious. The classic is our biggest fundraiser of the year. All the money from the race goes back into the trails.

Sounds like a great time. I had a blast up there for the Rodeo this year! I am thinking I will try it. Do you have a link to the details so I can show the guys I ride with?

    Tks

    A few updates:
Registration closes tomorrow night at 11:59pm. Get on it. All preregistered racers get a nifty shirt.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, registration will be closing 40 minutes before the start of each race. Sorry about that. Blame the timing guy.
There will be a kids race.
There will be beer courtesy of Dogfish Head. All racers will get a ticket for 1 beer of their choice. We will have beer available for a small "donation."
Kilby's Ice Cream and The Wandering Chef will be there to take care of your hungry needs.
The weather looks to be fabu for Saturday.
All of the proceeds from this race go into making the trails better for everyone.

Can anyone who's done this before give guidance on "sport" vs. "expert?" I just think 3 laps (and 9am) sounds more fun...but also don't want to be in last place by 3hrs! ;)

I went sport fat. I have never raced before so didn't want to kill myself! It's just another ride in a beautiful place.
    GOOD LUCK!

Sorry to have to say this, but Fair Hill and the Trailspinners have come to an agreement. With all the rain that has fallen this week, Fair Hill has suggested that we move the date of the race. The Fair Hill Classic will be held on Sunday, July 9th.

Was a good move to postpone the race. I came up on Friday and spent the night for the Saturday race. Rode Friday evening for a while. Started down the Orange trail and found it to muddy to continue after about 150 yards. Turned around and rode the blue trail(gravel) and got caught in the downpour around 6:00. You guys did a great job to have the course ready for Sunday. The course was for me a Cast Iron B*tch. Did finish the sport class fat though. Said 3rd place when I came in. Great Job Trail Spinners!
