    Explore Park trail designations?

I am trying to determine the trail difficulty by the color designations on the trail map.

The colors are white, yellow, blue, red and black, could someone please advise?

It's in Roanoke Virginia off of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Are you sure they are difficulty designations and not just blaze colors?

Funny you just mentioned that, just got back from a ride on my Private Jake ( love it) and I stopped in at the bike shop to enquirer about Explore Park trails and he said the colors just highlight the different trails and they are all intermediate level.

Thanks for the shedding some light.

haha...that's cool. I love my Private Jake too by the way...lol...but yeah...I asked because that's how a lot of trails here are too...blazed with colors (or sometimes a letter) so you know what trail you are on. Of course it's common practice on hiking trails as well.

Yea they have renamed their trails by color of the marking. They are all pretty much intermediate level. Twisty and flowy with roots that seem to get bigger every year. It is a particularly nice place to ride when the leaves turn as it is mostly large hardwood forest.
